NYSWOCP – STATE BOARD MEETING – 4-21-2012

OWEGO TREADWAY INN – OWEGO, NY

Dear Members,

After considerable delay, we were able to have a Board Meeting on April 21st. We met at the Owego Treadway, the same hotel we had planned for our meeting in October. Restoration is well underway, the floors and rooms are shining with new décor. We were able to have a brief tour to see some of the changes. The hotel should be at its very best the October Convention.

New Officers were inducted, Helen Mateer, Country-President, President Elect from Country-Carol Minnick, Secretary-Carol Cureo from Country, Treasurer Rosemary Seivert Messina from Country and Barbara Strzepka from Country as Historian. Joyce Stewart and Joan Chubbuck from Heart continue as Vice President and Parliamentarian respectively.

By-Laws were reviewed, with assistance from the Board Members. They were passed and will be published in the 2012 Roster Book. It was decided to go back to our prior format for the Roster Book, including our history and By-Laws. Off Convention year updates will be available. It was voted to have the Officers proceed with application for a new IRS classification.

It was decided that our Card Project will continue. We are keeping track of the revenue and expenses of this fundraiser, with an amount, decided in April 2013, to be donated to the World Museum at their Convention.

We will follow the World Organization recommendation, Glass may be displayed at our Convention, however it cannot be voted on.

Museum shipping expenses are being reviewed by Sue Fedor-Museum Chairman. There was discussion regarding the expenses from the past Convention. Following guidelines from the “China Painter” it was voted to send 5 pieces to the museum, along with some of the Jr. Winning pieces. This is in keeping with our reduced membership.
